It’s What I Want.

Whenever I work with outside companies, I have a couple of favorites but most are little shops with one guy and a computer. There are a few who really want to do business with us, but whenever I send them a file, they scream because it isn’t in Corel format or they only have Illustrator 8, when 10 is the newest. I try and try to get files in a lower format, but some of these cretins just need to upgrade or they’re not getting my business.

Unfortunately for these people , the graphic design world uses Adobe products or Quark. While I only have one Corel shop, the last time I dealt with them, I emphasized that they really needed to support Adobe or just a simple EPS file. After an initial investment in Photoshop, it’s just a $150 cost every few years to upgrade to the latest edition. And I’ll let you in on a little secret, the upgrade works with Photoshop 3. You can find Photoshop 3 (or even 2 works) used on ebay ….between $100-150. So the investment is very cheap, between $200-300 instead of $600 for a full retail version. About the same price as the CorelDRAW upgrade .

Ironically, as I sat down to write that last sentence, my Photoshop 7 upgrade arrived.
