I Read The News Today, Oh Boy

[Yoko Ono Extends Olive Branch To Paul McCartney ] As much as I can’t stand Yoko Ono, I have to say that I agree with her assessment of McCartney’s songwriting. McCartney was more of the traditionalist with Lennon pushing the bounds, so Yoko was very apt when she said, “You’re a good songwriter, it’s not June with spoon that you rhyme”.

I didn’t become a fan of the Beatles until I was around 19 years old, when I read an early biography of the pre-Sgt. Peppers Beatles. I started to dive into that music much more and yes….I will say that John’s lyrics are more of my favorite than Paul’s.
