[Senate Republicans Pushing for a Plan on Ending the War in Iraq ] In other words, the Republicans see that Bush’s approval rating is tanking, so they want to distance themselves from the President. How can you follow the party line, when your leader is spiraling downward?
I voted for Bush in 2000. At the time, with how the world was, he was the best choice. I still believe he handled the early 9-11 dilemmas much better than how Al Gore ever could. But as everything unfolded, with humanitarian disasters and our ever increasing problems on a world scale, Mr. Gore would have been evolving more as a leader and much more of what we needed. Not only socially but financially too.
Oh how I long for a Clintonesque presidency with *just* sexual scandals and an occasional mystery suicide or plane crash .
