I thought it was a brilliant idea, poorly executed. Ads aren’t bad, it’s just making the process transparent enough to not look like a spammer or a shill.
But Blake, this is a free-market system. If you go into a Target or Wal-Mart do you express the same distaste about the lack of Sears’ ads, (hey we notice you’re using BLAH, try WalCola), etc? Google’s top priority isn’t users….they’re now a public com
